As per the annual meeting of board members, CGED-Nepal has decided to open a call for the induction of Fellows, Senior Fellows, and Distinguished Fellows in our organization.

We are expecting applications from 12th October 2021 to 18th October 2021. It will be reviewed by board members based on the below-mentioned criteria.

The Niyamabali (Regulation) of CGED-Nepal (Article 36.5) has a provision to “appoint advisors and form subcommittees” in CGED-Nepal. Hence, the Special AGM of the CGED Nepal held on 22 July 2021 had decided to appoint different categories of Fellows to provide professional inputs, management foresight, and strategic advice to CGED Board for its future growth and development. These fellows are appointed based on the unsolicited and solicited applications made by eligible CGED-Nepal members based on the following criteria:

CRITERIA FOR 3 CATEGORIES OF FELLOWS:

1. Criteria to appoint Fellow (Research, Knowledge Management, and Policy Outreach):

COMPULSORY CRITERIA:

a) Current member of CGED-Nepal with good standing (entry fee of NPR 10,000 paid and AGM attended) – compulsory terms and conditions;
b) Dedication to the profession relevant to CGED-Nepal;
c) Has worked or is working in positions that include Under Secretary or above, Lecturer or above, Research Officers,

Subject Matter Expert and equivalent in academia, government, non-government, private organizations, and institutions:

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

d) Currently engaged in research and development project as well as scholarly work in CGED-Nepal’s mandated areas;
e) Commitment to contribute to CGED’s Long-term growth and development work;
f) Willing to work as Junior Research/Knowledge Management/Policy Outreach fellows or officers and work as a team member in the CGED-Nepal run projects and Programs.
g) Have done publications relevant to CGED-Nepal’s work

2. Criteria for appointing Senior FellowCOMPULSARY CRITERIA

a) Has served as a Fellow, Researcher, or Subject Expert in CGED-Nepal run projects and programs, and Life or General member of CGED-Nepal for at least for 3 years;
b) Has been an active, continuous general or life member of CGED-Nepal for a minimum of three years
c) Has worked in positions that include Reader or above, Joint Secretary and above, Senior Expert and equivalent, and in research and/or faculty positions in recognized colleges and universities;

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

d) Have worked in the capacity of a Senior Expert or equivalent positions in CGED-Nepal’s mandated areas or doing research and study projects, and have demonstrated scholarly works at national and international level;
e) Expresses commitment to contribute to CGED’s Long-term growth and development work;
f) Willing to work as Senior Research/Knowledge Management/Policy Outreach officer/team member in CGED-Nepal run projects and programs; and
g) Have published in national and international journals and other types of publications

3. Criteria for appointing Distinguished Fellow

Distinguished Fellows must demonstrate outstanding dedication to his/her profession in at least 3 of the above-mentioned CGED’s mandated areas and sub-areas.

COMPULSORY CRITERIA (one or more criteria applicable)

a) Have served as a senior management staff, board member, Fellow, Senior Fellow, Founding/Life/r General member of CGED-Nepal for at least for 3 years;
a) Have served in positions that include Secretary or equivalent, NPC member or equivalent in theGovernment of Nepal system; Director/Senior Program Officer/Manager or equivalent in national international non-government/inter-government organizations for at least for 3 years;
b) Has served as full-time Vice-Chancellor, Dean, academic/research Professor in a recognized/reputed national/international university (institute having deemed university status) and has provided academic and administrative leadership;

Has done national level recognized work (publications(at least 3 peer-reviewed journal papers would be desirable), research article book, participation in policy discourse, and the invitation to the national and international forum as a Keynote and/or Expert speaker in one or more CGED Mandated areas described above;

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

c) Nationally/ internationally recognized professional involvement, and demonstrated scholarly works at national and international level;
d) Commitment to contribute to CGED’s Long-term growth and development work;
e) Commitment to engaging in Community and civil society, and academic work on behalf of the CGED-Nepal;
f) Commitment to Professional volunteerism on the mandated areas of CGED-Nepal; and
g) Willing to contribute to CGED’s growth and development in areas such as Nature Conservation, Harnessing of Ecosystem Services, Climate Change Resilience Building, Green Economy Strategy Development, and Ecosystem/Landscape Management and Restoration/Rehabilitation.

All three of The CGED Fellows will be actively engaging in both paid and voluntary professional work as requested and facilitated by the CGED Management. Distinguished Fellows have to set an example through their involvement with CGED-Nepal by providing inspiring leadership and guidance to the organization as needed in their respective professional areas.

The tenure of all categories of Fellows will be 3 years which is renewable by the Board of CGED-N on the basis of mutual interest and consultations.

4. General Provisions:

a) Based on its capability, CGED-N will offer to the fellows working space, email ID, remuneration if engaged in the externally funded project, and Non-remuneration facilities such as transport, hospitality costs, DSA in case of performing CGED-N’s internal research, publications, participation-CGED related mission, etc.

b) Fellows must communicate with the CGED-Nepal management on an occasional basis and indicate a willingness to provide professional inputs such as review of proposals at the request of the Management.
